I’m in a bit of a rush.

March 31, 2010

Well, I’ve stayed up way too late as it is, so I’m going to keep this one pretty short. I spent a couple hours on Skype practicing Japanese with my new language exchange partner, so I manage to put in some extra effort on the language learning.

On a more personal note, I finally ordered the headset and carrying case that will allow me to switch to my new LG Rumor 2 cell phone. I managed to get a free upgrade recently, and I’ll be so happy to ditch the phone I’m currently using. The one I have is about 6 years old, and I’ve had nothing but problems making headsets work with it. =\

Alright, that’s about all the time I have for tonight. I will try to put in some work on my review tomorrow, so hopefully I’ll have some news about that. おやすみなさい! (Oyasumi Nasai!) =D

It’s official, I have a language exchange partner! =D

March 30, 2010

Well, the extra time I spent writing those up last night seem to have paid off, I’ve met someone who seems very nice and we have some similar interests.

So, between writing several e-mails and doing my Japanese practice, my brain is officially exhausted. I’m sure it happens to everyone, but I’m going to blame it on how little sleep I’ve been getting lately. After all, I’ve got appearances to keep up (although, I really haven’t been getting much sleep lately)! =P

I didn’t end up working on my Rosetta Stone review (big surprise, I know), and I don’t really have much of an excuse. I mean, I just sort of forgot. =P This is why I have this page you know, I used to do this with my Japanese lessons.

Alright, it’s already really late at night, and I’d like to get a little extra sleep tonight. おやすみなさい! (Oyasumi Nasai!) =D

Well, the ad is finally up! =D

March 29, 2010

I know if took me longer to get around to it than it should have, but I finally have an ad up for a language exchange partner. Course, I didn’t just stop there, I also ended up replying to another persons ad, so that might end up working out too. =D

I know my page has been kind of boring lately. I’ve really got to dedicate some more time to my Rosetta Stone review. But I’ve been kind of 怱々(I’m pretty sure that means busy. =P) lately.

But, I’ve been spending most of my free time working on my Japanese. I actually just found a new song I like the other day. It’s called, “Never Cry” by Maika. It’s a very strange style of singing, that under normal circumstances I don’t think I’d enjoy. Still, there’s something about the song that I enjoy. =P

Well, hopefully I’ll actually buckle down and do some work on Rosetta Stone tomorrow. I’m also kind of hoping the language exchange starts to happen soon. I think not having someone to speak with in the language is one of the more frustrating aspects of self study. Course, with the power of the Internet, I hope to overcome this problem. =P

Alright, it’s getting late (like always =P). おやすみなさい! (Oyasumi Nasai!) =D

I couldn’t sit through it.

March 28, 2010

I don’t really remember if I covered this in my about page, but I’m a big horror movie fan. I’ve watched more than my fair share of the classic horror movies over my lifetime, but my favorite has always been Halloween.

Well, today I had the unfortunate encounter I’ve been dreading for a few years. It seems someone thought it would be a good idea to let Rob Zombie re-create a John Carpenter movie. -_-

I was thinking about describing everything that I saw that was wrong with this movie, but I realized something, there’s nothing right with this movie. I mean, even taken on its own, it’s still a horrible movie. To be fair, I think they did manage to do one thing right. If I was forced (at gun point, mind you) to re-create Halloween, I’d be hard pressed to find someone better than Malcolm McDowell to play Dr. Loomis (this doesn’t actually help the fact that they ruined his character, it’s more a compliment in actor choice).

Well, aside from that, I haven’t accomplished much else today. I got in a little bit of study, and I shouldn’t be staying up much later (again). So, I’m off. おやすみなさい! (Oyasumi nasai!) =D

Correction, tomorrow I write an ad. =P

March 27, 2010

Well, I was planning on writing up an ad this morning, but I never really got around to it. I did, however, put in some time on my Rosetta Stone review. I hate to break it to everyone, I still have quite a bit more to go on that thing. =P

Well, I’m in one of those awkward positions right now. I need to head off to bed, pretty much as quickly as I can, but I’m not really tired at the moment. So, I’m debating whether or not I should use writing this as an excuse to stay up longer, or if I should just try and force myself to head off to bed.

I think the only reasonable thing to do would be to head off. =P おやすみなさい! (Oyasumi nasai!) =D

Tomorrow I write an ad.

March 26, 2010

Well, I seem to have come across another person that’s not responding to me. =P Ah well, I figure I’ll give them until tomorrow morning and then create an ad of my own.

Well, I ended up being pretty busy today (had to remove a clog with an auger. =P). Still, the day wasn’t a total waste. I’ve put together a relatively small list of useful words I should add to my vocabulary (and, of course, I practiced them), so at least I’m starting to progress again.

I found out today that Crunchyroll has added all of Gundam Wing (yes, it’s in Japanese with subtitles ^.^). I can’t help it, I’m a total Gundam fanboy. =P

Well, aside from having some time to dedicate to my review tomorrow (as well as writing up an ad), I don’t have much else in the way of news.

Alright, I’m off. I promise to put in some work on my review tomorrow (and you’ll trust that, right?). =P I know I’ve been bad about it lately, but it’s been kind of busy around here (and when it wasn’t, I might have completely forgotten about it *whistles*). おやすみなさい! (Oyasumi nasai!) =D

At least I’m feeling better.

March 25, 2010

Well, I got hit with a massive migraine this afternoon. Fortunately for me, it didn’t end up surviving past nine o’clock. Still, it did put a rather large hamper on my plans for today.

Despite my headache, I’ve sent off another request for a language exchange partner, so hopefully this one will actually respond. =P Still, I’ve realized something. I am far slower at typing in Japanese than I am in English. =P

I haven’t actually written an ad of my own yet, but I think I’ll wait until tomorrow before I worry about that. While I’ve got some free time now, I’m expecting that to change soon, so I don’t want to have too many people that I’m attempting keep this up with (it doesn’t help that they all want to use something like Skype instead of E-mail).

Well, I’ve got stuff to do tomorrow, so I shouldn’t even be awake right now. To rectify this problem, I shall make haste to bed! おやすみなさい! (Oyasumi nasai!) =D

No response yet.

March 24, 2010

It’s not really surprising (I’ve waited days to get around to replying to e-mail). Still, if there’s one thing this does say, it’s that I should really consider writing my own ad. After all, having more options is never a bad thing.

Well, I went on a search to find some sort of Japanese TV without subtitles today, but I couldn’t find anything. Don’t get me wrong, I love Crunchyroll, but the shows they have don’t really cater to my language learning needs. If I had my choice, I’d have a show like Friends in Japanese. I’d be even happier if I could get it without subtitles.

I think my biggest complaint about subtitles is that they make me lazy. I’ve got a bad habit of ignoring what people are saying and just paying attention to the subtitles. I really think trying to immerse myself with something like that (a show that uses mostly conversational Japanese) would really benefit me.

Oh well, I’ve been told about another language learning page I should try (can’t remember the name right now), so I’ve still got some more stuff to check out.

Once again, it is getting really late here. おやすみなさい! (Oyasumi nasai!) =D

I’ve joined the dark side.

March 23, 2010

Well, after some debate, and really just delaying the inevitable, I’ve installed Skype. See, I have quite a few problems with the various terms of use (like the recording everything I say and stealing my processor and bandwidth to power their server), but it seems I’m left with little other option.

Now that I finally have it up and running, I’ve sent off a message to a potential language exchange partner and I seem to be going along pretty well. =D

I haven’t worked out a study plan yet, but I should have some time to put it together over the next few days. I’ve got a lot of house work to do (a “deep clean”), and after that I’ll likely be even busier. =P

I didn’t work on my review today (I really was planning on it, honest!), but that shouldn’t surprise any of my readers by now.

Well, it’s really late and I’m running out of things to talk about. おやすみなさい! (Oyasumi nasai!) =D

I get some of the strangest spam…

March 22, 2010

I just got a spam comment that was filled entirely with gibberish. Ah well, I guess that’s the price I have to pay for running a site like this. =P

Well, I admit to being rather lazy today. I was going to make an ad for a pen-pal, work on my review, get some cleaning done around the house, and study some Japanese. In the end, I only ended up studying my Japanese.

So, looks like tomorrow gets to be my busy day instead. =P I know I’ve been kind of slow about my Rosetta Stone review, but it’s a rather large project. Also, for those of you new to my page, I’m a rather lazy individual. I guess it shouldn’t really surprise anyone that I’m putting it off. =P

I think my biggest problem lately is that I’m mostly doing review for my Japanese. I’m going to have to dedicate some time tomorrow (since I will have the time tomorrow) to coming up with something better to do. Even moving on in Rosetta Stone feels mostly like review. So, be it creating verb/noun lists or making my flashcards to hand out, I need to get started on that.

I’ve also been thinking about improving my Kanji. I don’t have a proper flashcard set for it, but even if I go through the Kanji slowly, it’s better than not improving at all.

That will be my food for thought tomorrow. For tonight, it is time to sleep. おやすみなさい! (Oyasumi nasai!) =D
